Hi there. I’m just wondering if anyone can recommend a good but different tattoo design for a woman’s ankle.

I’m only looking for something petite but unusual.  I think I’ll add I’m 38 yrs of age, if that’s any help.

Find something you like and print out a few pictures, then go to a tattoo artist and show them.  Have them create something that is perfectly unique for you.

    I have my favorite flower tattooed on mine, a hibiscus. That's not very original, but I like it, so who cares.

    I think everyone worries too much about being "original". Just get what makes you happy.

    Hard to pick but Ozzy Osbourne once lectured Kelly saying why can't people be original - Don't get a piercing, don't get a tattoo and don't dye your hair..

    At some stage I've done them all too so feeling very uncool now.

    I can't recommend any tattoos for ankles. But if you're worried about having an ankle tattoo at the age of 38 DON'T, i'm 38 and only last week I had a lower back tattoo done and it's alot bigger that I expected. There are lots of tattoo websites, maybe you can get some ideas from there.

    Hi, a tattoo is really a personal choice like i have my son's name on my lower back and really want to get a fairy on my ankle and my cousin's mum died so as a tribute to her she got a pattern of sunflowers (my aunts fav flowers) so maybe you should make it special to you!     Well, alot of thought must be put into the design. It should be something that either reminds you of something or makes you happy. Many designes could be: INITIALS, A PHRASE, A BUTTERFLY, A STAR, AN EGYPTIAN EYE, etc. It is permanent, so be wise. ;)

    an eye? I dunno, I think a cool peircing green eye would look cool. Maybe with something reflected in it. That would be awsome…like a dead family member you were close to, so its like they're checking up on you- making sure you're ok.

    nope, it should be the exact coloring of your husbands eye if you're married.

    i think you should think of something that means something to you, or has a story to it because you dont want to get something and when someones asks say just cuz. think of your favorite animal or something that represents one of your beleifs or loved ones. i am 15 and when i turn 18 i am getting a tatoo of this little doodle my mom always drew, she passed away and i am very anxious to get it. good luck.

    Hi here are some web sites of pictures of tattoos that may help you decide on what type of tattoo to go for. Just remember that a tattoo is for life or an empty bank account as to remove them costs a fortune and can leave permanent scarring. Classic designs age well such as Celtic cross chains etc. Make sure you choose a design you are happy with as some tattoos can look sexy or can make a statement about the person you are now while others can be a turn off to some people and may not make the same statement in several years.
    If these sites don’t inspire you type in tattoo in Google and you will find lots of others when you find one you like print the picture off and ask the artist if they can reproduce it or something similar.

    best thing to do is wait, wait until you know what you want, its a life long commitment and its not something which you should rush into, take your time to decide what you would like and take time to go round and see different tattoo parlours, make ure they are clean etc.

    You could go for a snake or chinese dragon that wraps all the way around.
    I find that the small ones end up looking like bruises unless you look closely

    Maybe an anklet type tattoo? Those are the prettiest. You know, one that wraps all the way around. If you just want one on the side, then maybe a butterfly, or something feminine like that. But it really is YOUR tattoo, so you need to get something YOU want. That way you'll still like it years down the road.
